FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are shops open today in Poland?
The app does not show opening hours for specific shops or the status of every day of the week. It helps you check whether the nearest Sunday is a trading Sunday and reminds you about selected public holidays and other days when shopping restrictions may apply.
When is the next trading Sunday in Poland?
You can see the next trading Sunday on the app’s start screen. The calendar is based on Polish rules restricting trade on Sundays and public holidays. As a general rule, there are eight trading Sundays in a year: the last Sunday of January, April, June and August, the Sunday before Easter, and the three Sundays before Christmas Eve.
Is everything closed on non-trading Sundays?
No. On Sundays with shopping restrictions, most large shops and supermarkets are closed, but Polish law includes exceptions. Places such as gas stations, pharmacies, restaurants, small owner-operated shops, and some other businesses may still be open. The app helps you understand the general rule for the day, but it does not show opening hours for specific shops.
Do I need an account to use the app?
No. The app does not require an account or login. We also do not use app usage data for advertising purposes.
Where do the trading day data come from?
The data is prepared from publicly available legal information, especially the Polish act on restricting trade on Sundays, public holidays and certain other days. The app organizes that information into a simple calendar.
Does the app include public holidays?
Yes. The app shows selected public holidays and statutory days off when shopping restrictions may apply. This helps you avoid surprises and plan shopping earlier.
Does the app work offline?
Yes, the basic calendar is available in the app. An internet connection may be needed to receive data updates or new app versions.
Can I check the status without opening the app?
Yes. You can add a widget to your phone’s Home Screen to quickly check the nearest trading Sunday without opening the app.
Does the app send reminders?
Yes, reminders are optional. You can turn on notifications for an upcoming trading Sunday and for selected public holidays or other non-trading days.
Where can I find a list of trading Sundays?
You do not need to remember every date. Sunday Shopping in Poland provides a list of trading Sundays for the next 12 months and an interactive calendar that lets you check past and future trading Sundays and public holidays. Install the app to keep this information at hand. If you are in a hurry, you can find the full list of trading Sundays in 2026 on Trading Sundays 2026.
